Building an Ash Pan for a Doble Steam Car
1. This is an ash pan from a Doble Steam Car, and it fits underneath the boiler.
2. The original was too rough to use, so a new one was worked up using the TM Tech. Air Hammer and a little planishing on the Wheel.
3. The dome itself (and the flange) is 36" Diameter, and made of ONE piece.
4. It raises 5.5" at the center.
5. The "tube" is added, as are the clearance blisters around the edge.
6. It is gas welded.
7. Too bad the customer wouldn't bring in the boiler for me to fit it to.
