    727 Skin Repair

This series of photos shows a large fusellage skin repair done to a 727 cargo plane, at Shannon MRO, in Shannon, Ireland .
Shannon MRO's hard-working crew chief is Benny Buxton. The repair was done without replacement parts from the factory, as there were none.
The skins were made by men that I trained on the Wheeling Machine a few months earlier. They made these panels in a few hours, using skills attained in 3 days of training on the Wheel . I believe this shows how practical certain unusual forming skills can be in maintaining commercial aircraft.
