TM Air Motors
|
|
|
As of January, 2004 all of our Air Motors are built by us, with our own modifications. Four of the pieces for these Air Motors are made off shore. We make all of the other parts and assemble (and test) the motors in our own shop.
We firmly believe that no other air motor will match ours in performance and reliability. Since 1987 we have bought, tested, rebuilt, and modified thousands of air motors to find particular ones that met our requirements for rate of fire, hardness of hit, durability, variability, and ease of use. There are only a few that we found which will do this. You are free to spend your own time and money to discover this for yourself. I have a photo somewhere of a huge pile of air motors on my workbench, every maker, size and configuration you can imagine, over 50 motors in one big pile. I have been through every one, used every one, and know little things about every one. Sand rammers, needle scalers, plating rack scalers, chippers, destruction guns, air chisels, rivet guns, zip guns, stone carving units, and palm nailers have all been experimented with and dismantled for inspection.
Our Air Motors are modified to hit hard enough to do the job. They hit fast enough to do every task you need to do, and they are so controllable that they will hit only once with just one stomp of the pedal. They will also run so slowly that the unit will actually cycle without hitting the metal.
You can see on our site dozens of pictures of work done with this Air Power Hammer. All of the tooling for this machine has been designed around the performance of these carefully-designed air motors. Years of professional metal-working experience have gone into developing these air motors. You are welcome to experiment, too. Go have fun! – Kent White

Medium Air Motor #2

The Medium air motor will shrink up to .050 aluminum, and 20 ga. steel. It hits at the rate of 990 blows per minute, and runs on 3cfm of 90psi shop air. The motor can be slowed to a point where it will not hit the metal, but will still cycle. It can also hit once with one stomp of the pedal.

Super Heavy Air Motor (Super Thumper) #6
Includes Special Clamping Mechanism

The Super Extra Very Heavy air motor will shrink up to 1/4" soft aluminum, and 10 ga. soft steel. It hits at the rate of 780 blows per minute, and runs on 4.2cfm of 90psi shop air. The motor can be slowed to a point where it will not hit the metal, but will still cycle. It can also hit once with one stomp of the pedal. This air unit requires a Heavy Duty clamp assembly and will not work with our standard upper assembly. The special clamp assembly includes bolts and handle. (Air motor cost is $985.00 and required Upper Clamping Assembly $385.00.)
