This Flange Die is machined flat, from an aerospace non-ferrous alloy. It must be used only in conjunction with either of the upper Shrinking Heads (see below), but with no other die or head. (This die may be easily damaged by inexperienced hands(read: apprentices)). This die is designed to create flanges around curves on compound surfaces. Either inside curves or outside curves may be flanged. You need to understand that inside curves require stretching and outside curves require shrinking. This die will do both operations - and it will follow a pencil line, depending on your “operator skill” (Kent also uses this die for shrinking bulges on flat surfaces.)
