The student is taught how to make patterns, why they are used and the variations possible.
By using the patterns we are then able to make a three dimensional representation of the part we wish to
make. This is known as either a "mock-up" or a "buck".
We now divide the part into bite sized pieces, using paper patterns for a variety of information.
