    After the hood blister halves are formed and fit, they are butt welded and then planished, using the Model 2000 Interchangable-Post Air Power Hammer.

    The 250TR hood blister is now butt welded, planished and metal finished with a body file. The blister is fit to the buck once again while the edge flanges are marked off for turning.

    The hood blister is now having its edges flanged up, using the Air Power Hammer and the Flanger dies. This method follows a marked line very accurately and needs no other correction. This flange is made without leaving any marks.

    The finished Testa Rossa hood blister is shown next to the buck. We used the correct alloy, 3003, thickness, .040” and temper, half-hard, with no annealing. Since we have an original undamaged TR59 hood blister to work from, the workmanship is accurate to the factory’s original.
