I have a question concerning the blueprints for the
big powerhouse 49" english wheel
. The plans call out 3/8" plate for the side plates at the top frame. I am thinking of making it out of 1/4"
instead due to cost and ease of fabrication. I was wondering if you have any advice as to whether this
could be a problem or not.

I like a wheel with a fairly stiff frame. Thinner means flexy. The design is well-conceived, and thoroughly
tested.
